invoking escher

… or some combination thereof. My Flickr faves pages are now three pages of eye candy. I wub Flickr and spend way too much time on it.

I try to have high standards when it comes to adding photos to my faves collection. It usually comes down to how reluctant I am to close the tab with that photo. Or if I keep coming back to one, despite trying not to like it. Some obvious themes in subject have emerged.

I think this is possibly my favorite of the faves. This is a close second. A scary-perfect shot.

The pic shown here, taken with my wonderfully crappy cameraphone, is the first to make it on to the “interesting” page. Ooh, I’m all giddy! Har har.

Wow. A crushing blow for youth health: Nintendo will provide free Wi-Fi access at 6000 McDonalds around the world. ”

The deal will allow Nintendo DS owners to walk into a McDonald’s and play Wi-Fi-enabled games with others on the service, whether they are in the building or around the world. There will be no setup required–users simply launch a game that supports Wi-Fi, and play against others while sucking down shakes.

My car is named Gatsby. Gatsby is a ‘98 Jeep Cherokee. Gatsby had his starter replaced this evening. We will hope that that solves the problem Gatsby was having, which involved a touch of intolerance to temperature changes. Gatsby, you see, is a Californian Jeep, and isn’t used to the cold Colorado winters. Sometimes he decides not to start, for several minutes at a time. This week, after our first cold snap, he decided not to start for two days.

Unfortunately Gatsby suffered a bit of a broken battery lead due to some tactless manhandling by his owner. So we will all have to wait until his owner gets him a new battery to see if the starter helps. D’oh!

Learning is expensive with me. I seem to like it that way.
