“farewell transcendence landlord leaf sung” … 18″x18″, watercolor on paper
I know some of us have puzzled over how to use spam as art … it seems like such a rich (nay limitless, unending, flood-like) source of weird post-modern … um, something. Surreal poetry? Transcendental koans? If only we could somehow convert it into electricty …
At least one person is putting some real effort into the project: at Fresh Spam, weird, amusing spam subject lines are a generator for weird, amusing painting. (Via Mobuzz.tv.) This stuff is totally going into a museum one day. Or maybe wall art for a cyber café?
I don’t know about you, but sometimes the spam headlines seem eerily related to something I’m thinking about, working on, etc. I mean yes: a flood of random phrases is bound to eventually hit on something meaningful, but it happens an awful lot lately. It’s kind of freaky.

I’m much, much too lazy to be doing 18″ x18″ spam doodles; they’re all around 5″ x 5.5″.
Thank you for saying such nice things about my spam. If you have any suggestions how I can get more of it…seriously, now that I collect it, most of the stuff I get is boring! I think the spammers are on to me.

Haha. I took a guess on the dimensions. Oh well. =) Thanks for stopping by!

So . . . heard a name over the weekend that I have never heard on my life. Then today here comes a spam labeled with that name. This is pushing the envelope of coincidence considering that you just pointed it out. They are watching us.
