not there yet
Sunday, April 22nd, 2007I just uninstalled Google Desktop. I installed it on my home machine after its release a couple of weeks ago. Granted, that machine has only been on an hour or so each day, but Google Desktop was still indexing, and was causing weird problems … typically after sleeping the machine and waking up again, something wouldn’t be right. Apps would slow to a crawl, XCode refused to complete a build and then wouldn’t quit, my system user account prefs were trashed … not cool. It’s like the indexer held onto a file lock and wouldn’t give it up again after waking up. I don’t know.
Anyway, between Spotlight and Quicksilver (especially with its Web Search module … holy crap!), I don’t really see what Google Desktop was offering me.
Seriously, Quicksilver never fails to impress me.
