Alex tells me twitter probably got momentarily flustered and I’ll have to go database diving to remove it by hand.

I really appreciate how The Transformers have evolved into kind of organic, almost grotesque things for their incarnation in the upcoming movie. This flickrite has great images of some of the models: Bumblebee, Jazz, Ironhide, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream … Lovely. I just wonder how far the designers went in figuring out how these things actually fit together. Wow.

Cars in and of themselves are not quite as compelling to me as they were back when the TV series was on (you know, “brrm brrrm brrrrrm!”), so I now have the perspective to question the whole car/robot thing. I’m sure there’s plenty of explanation for why sentient robots would want to be cars in the Transformers mythology. But I forgot.

On the other hand, it’s pretty obvious why any car would want to be a robot: to avoid things like this. Ouch.
