I think he’s right about the importance of long-term thinking and also about the importance of toys.

I’ve seen this man give so many different talks about Spore in so many different contexts. One could almost be convinced that this game is going to save the world or something.
That said, I still hold much respect and admiration for his ability to conceive a product that aims to achieve so much at the same time. One can only hope that it’s not just all talk and that he really means it.
